Based on a play by Maekawa Tomohiro, the film premiered in the Un Certain Regard sidebar of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. Matsuda Ryuhei & up-&-coming young stars Takasugi Mahiro ( Re LIFE) & Tsunematsu Yuri ( Sagrada Reset) play aliens who arrive on Earth to serve as vanguards for the forthcoming invasion. Nagasawa Masami & Hasegawa Hiroki co-star as the humans they select as their guides on Earth.

Narumi (Nagasawa Masami) & her husband Shinji (Matsuda Ryuhei) were on the outs when he suddenly went missing. When Shinji returns, he seems like a completely different person. He walks strangely, speaks gently & curiously observes & learns about whats around him. Shinji tells Narumi that he is an alien, & she will be his guide as he acquires concepts from humans. Meanwhile, in another part of town, an entire family has been brutally killed & the sole survivor, teenage girl Akira (Tsunematsu Yuri), walked away from the house covered in blood. Sleazy journalist Sakurai (Hasegawa Hiroki) is in the neighborhood to cover the story, & he meets strange teenage boy Amano (Takasugi Mahiro). He announces to Sakurai that he is an alien & recruits Sakurai to be his guide to help locate Akira & Shinji. When the three meet up to complete their mission, the alien invasion will begin.
